Toiletries giant Johnson & Johnson says it will stop producing plastic cotton bud sticks by the end of 2016 after campaign to stop them polluting oceans and littering beaches

That's a nuisance, I use em, cut to size, to stop braid cutting through meat when hair rigging large lumps of spam.

YER, i LIKE FINDING THEM, getting me pen knife out, making one end into a point, and picking the meat out from me teeth, while I am seating on the bank fishing, awaiting for me next bite, wot am I going to use now

Yeah but you must admit, the inconvenience of finding another source of thin plastic tube vs a reduction in the thousands of these things washed up on the beaches, it has got to be overall a good thing right?

yes the shores and tow paths all through Mortlake Barnes ,Putney are littered with thousands
of cotton buds that can be picked up which I think is down to Thames water as they do flush them with the sewage with , condoms ,tampons etc but will the paper type just be a case of want you cant see is safe you could be talking about tons of who knows what dissolving into
the water system as toilet paper etc if it is harmless good but who really knows
