A good day for larger eels today. Just 25 in total in the trap but about a third of them were over 100 mm and 5 were over 115.

1 * 140
1 * 130
1 * 120
2 * 115

The new eel run was dry but there was a good flow of water over the main weir.

Neil's report from Tuesday morning, posted by me as split the survey stuff out

A very enjoyable morning down at Molesey today. I started off with the usual eel counting, there were 25 of which 5 were 115 mm or longer plus a single bullhead. When I arrived the water above the trap was just 1" below the overspill lip and as the lock was operated water was cascading over it for the first time in months. I've usually turned up in sandles or crocs but I would advise folks to wear wellies from here on in as the area around the trap is now permanently wet and will only get deeper.

For Keith -

3 * 115 mm
2 * 120 mm

PostSubject: Apologies   Thu Sep 12, 2013 12:15 pm

Hi all,

I'm just messaging to apologise for my absence. I went into hospital in July for an operation on my neck/shoulder which unfortunately meant I was unable to come down to Moseley. I'm back in working in order, but unsure how much longer the surveys will be going on for? I would love to get down there before the end of the season if I'm not already too late.

Charlie

Charlie good to hear from you, a week tomorrow would be brilliant unless you are around midweek?

No check this Saturday as fishing, just been down now and 15 safely released
